Course Memo
(90 contact hours).
This course explores the art and science of nursing in this clinical course. Emphasis is placed on the nursing process, cultural and spiritual awareness, communication, data collection, performance of basic nursing skills, and documentation. Principles of safe medication administration are introduced. The ratio of contact hours to credit hours is 45:1 in this course. The student can expect to spend approximately 17 contact hours per week in this course.
Note: A student must have a 2.0 overall GPA and a minimum of 2.0 GPA in departmental core courses of a program to graduate. This is a pass/fail course.
