Course Memo

(60 contact hours) This course utilizes the nursing standards of practice based on principles of biology, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural to meet the needs of clients throughout the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on basic nursing skills, patient safety and therapeutic communication. Concepts and skills are enhanced in subsequent courses. For a lecture class, one credit is considered to be one hour of lecture class time and two hours per week of work outside of class. For the typical three credit hour class, a student spends three hours per week in class and should expect to complete at least six hours per week of work outside of class. Note: A student must have a 2.0 overall GPA and a minimum of 2.0 GPA in departmental core courses of a program to graduate. A grade of ā€œCā€ or higher is required to pass this course
