Course Memo

This course is designed for anyone currently employed, or considering a career, in healthcare or – associated occupations. It is an excellent preparatory course for those entering CNA, CMA, EMT, LPN/RN, or Medical Transcription. This class is a Prerequisite for our Billing and Coding Specialist class. Students will learn the tools of work analysis to aid in their understanding of complex medical terms, and then learn to relate those terms to normal and abnormal structure and function of the human body. Specialized lectures will delve into the various body systems. In addition, students will learn the basics of drug classification and terminology related to the administration of drugs; diagnostic tests and procedures; and common abbreviations, acronyms, and symbols used in the various healthcare professions.
